The medieval fortress (Hungarian Marosvasarhely VAR) is at the center of Targu Mures. The resort city has an area of 4.3 ha and consists of a 7 fortificated bastions joined by walls. Inside the fortress is Calvin Reformed Church and the Bakery Building.
